Sebastiaan (Bas) van Nimwegen graduated in veterinary medicine at Utrecht University in the Netherlands (2006), performed an Honors Program (2004) and finished his PhD on laser and minimally invasive urogenital surgery in dogs and cats (2008). After an internship and surgical residency at Utrecht University Bas became diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2013. He currently works as assistant professor of companion animal surgery at the department of Clinical Sciences of the faculty of veterinary medicine in Utrecht, leading the oncologic and minimally invasive surgery section which is implemented in a multidisciplinary Animal Cancer Centre. His main research focus involves multidisciplinary translational development of a minimally invasive image-guided treatment approach for inoperable tumours with radioactive 166-holmium microspheres in animals and humans. Bas is involved in several clinical research projects on minimally invasive surgery, endocrine surgery, and hi-tech oncologic treatments and contributes to several international veterinary surgery textbooks.

Felisbina Luisa Queiroga is Professor at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), Portugal in Veterinary Internal Medicine and Oncology. She was Clinical Director of the Small Animal Service at Veterinary Teaching Hospital in their University (2007-2010) and the Director of the Integrated Master in Veterinary Medicine (2011-2013). She holds a position of ESEVT Expert in the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) for Basic and Clinical Sciences. She has more than 100 publications in SCI journals involving oncology (veterinary and comparative), internal medicine and clinical pathology. She is Editor in Chief of the Oncology in Veterinary Medicine, a section of Frontiers in Veterinary Sciences and Associate Editor of BMC Vet Research; Animals; among others. Currently she is member of WSAVA Scientific Committee and WSAVA liaison for WSAVA Oncology Working Group. She is also President of the North Regional Assembly of the National Order of Veterinarians in Portugal.

Gayathri Selvarajah is an Associate Professor at the Department of Veterinary Clinical Studies, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). She earned her DVM from UPM in 2005 and in 2011, she obtained the Doctor of Philosophy in small animal and comparative oncology from University of Utrecht, the Netherlands. As the senior Consulting Clinician in Small Animal Oncology at the University Veterinary Hospital, she works with private veterinarians on referral cases from all over Malaysia. In 2023, Gaya was awarded the De facto Diplomate in oncology by the Asian College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She was appointed as the Research Associate at the MAKNA-UPM Cancer Research Laboratory of Institute of Bioscience where she is part of the cancer biology and comparative oncology program. She has served as the vice president and contributed as a speaker and organizer for various CPD programs through MSAVA. Gaya has published numerous manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and supervised more than 20 post-graduate students.
