Prof. Dr. Achariya Sailasuta   obtained   her   DVM  (Hons.) from  Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand,   F.R.V.C.S. (Vet. Pathology),  Uppsala,  Sweden, Cert. in Vet. Pathology.  Miyazaki U., Japan, Ph.D. (Agriculture - Vet Pathology), Kagoshima University, Japan,  Dip in Asian College of  Conservation  Medicine and DTBVP (Diplomate, Thai Board in Veterinary Pathology).  At present, she  is  an invited   professor  in Department  Pathology,  Center of Excellence in Companion  Animal  Cancer (CE-CAC),  Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok and a qualified committee of many Universities in Thailand.  

For her professional career,   she is currently a director of FAVA office, Bangkok and Chair of ASEAN Veterinary Statutory Body Network, AVSBN and Immediate Past President of World Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnostician, WAVLD.

Dr. Eric Brum, a Country Team Leader for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and adjunct Assistant Professor at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, has managed the FAO Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD) Programme in Bangladesh since 2015.  He previously served in FAO Indonesia from 2006 to 2015 as the Chief Technical Advisor for emergency projects on avian influenza and rabies control.  As part of the growing role of veterinary medicine in the One Health approach to complex public health challenges, he has facilitated the development and implementation of avian influenza surveillance and control programmes which are both effective and readily translatable into field action.  Dr. Brum also assisted the Indonesian Government to design and implement an effective control programme on Bali for progressive control of rabies, including the development of systematic methods for achieving rapid and efficient vaccination of roaming dogs, and has provided technical advice on rabies control in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam.  In Bangladesh, he has developed novel intervention programmes for establishing a cost-effective system for monitoring antimicrobial resistance in livestock production systems and improving responsible usage of antibiotics in human and poultry medicine through the Bangladesh AMR Response Alliance (BARA). Most recently, he provided expert technical assistance to coordinate the UN’s interagency emergency response to COVID-19 under the UN Resident Coordinator.  He is a former Fulbright Fellow to Mozambique with Bachelor of Science degrees in both Biology and Environmental Studies from Tufts University (USA), a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree with Certificate in International Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine (USA), and a Master of Science in Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health from the Royal Veterinary College of London (UK).  In his spare time, he enjoys mentoring young veterinarians in companion animal medicine and surgery.

Peter Irwin graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London University in 1982 and has a PhD from James Cook University, Australia for studies into canine babesiosis in Australia. Peter has worked in Australia and Southeast Asia for more than 30 years as a teacher of companion animal medicine and as a researcher in the fields of veterinary parasitology and medical microbiology. He is appointed Professor Emeritus at Murdoch University.

Dr Sandie Choong Siew Shean graduated with a degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2000. She then proceeded to complete her Master’s in Veterinary Science degree in 2002 (UPM). Later, in 2016, Dr Sandie obtained her PhD from the University of Nottingham. In 2021, she obtained the Asian College of Conservation Medicine Diploma Certificate founded by Asian Society of Conservation Medicine (ASCM).
 
Dr Sandie has over two decades of experience in zoo and wildlife animal medicine. She began her professional veterinary career at Taiping Zoo and Night Safari, Perak, as a veterinary officer. She later joined the Department of Wildlife and National Parks HeadQuarters and the Melaka Zoo. Currently, Dr Sandie is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan. At the same time, she holds the Deputy Dean for Academic position, focusing on the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine curriculum teaching and learning to ensure the standard quality of UMK’s graduates, also postgraduate academic performances. She has coordinated clinical practices courses as well as training students in medicine and surgery for wildlife and exotic animals.
 
Dr Sandie’s current research investigates zoonotic pathogens and antimicrobial resistance in domestic animals and wildlife that may potentially threaten human and environmental health. As one of the members of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, Dr Sandie has the responsibility to oversee that animal use in teaching and research is conducted in accordance to the rules and regulations. She is also on the University’s Biosafety and Biosecurity Committee, in-charge of monitoring and assessing the use of biological materials in research as to not result in detrimental consequences to human, animals, and environment. Dr Sandie is actively involved with Malaysia One University Network (MyOHUN) and promoting One Health awareness among students and staff from multidisciplinary fields, especially through the UMK One Health Student Club. Currently, she also holds the Vice President position at Malaysia Zoological Medicine Association (MAZM), and Board member at ASCM
